Internships at CW25
Internship Program
Weigel Broadcasting Co. is pleased to offer its internship program at its television stations WBND-ABC57, CW25 and WMYS, My Michiana TV! We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic combined with creativity and a keen interest in the broadcast industry. Strong writing and organizational skills are required. Interns must possess a willingness to work as a part of a team in any capacity from administration work to creative brainstorming participation.
INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The internship requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week for an entire semester during the regular school year, minimum of 15 weeks. During the summer, we require at least 20 hours per week, minimum of 16 weeks. There is no pay associated with the internship and to qualify the student must receive college credit for the experience.
AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITIES
Production Intern
1-2 positions available for Spring, Summer & Fall
Interns will be responsible for assisting the writer/producer with all phases of production for commercial and promotional edits. This includes but is not limited to assisting with field shoots and logging field footage. Interns may have the opportunity to write and produce materials for the WB25 and/or ABC57. Interns need to be interested in television or related field, enthusiastic, creative, organized and capable of following directions and meeting strict deadlines.
Promotion Intern
1-2 positions available for Spring, Summer & Fall
Promotion interns will help with all levels of promotion and station advertising/marketing. This includes organizing and updating the press for contact information, sending press releases, compiling contest data, organizing and analyzing advertising as it relates to outside advertising campaigns in spreadsheet form. Opportunities also exist to work with vendors and media representatives, and participate at events for station and client promotion.

Eligibility
Undergraduate students who are of Junior or Senior status and graduate students. Freshmen and sophomores are eligible only with a letter of recommendation from a professor in the field.
